A Visit to Malpe Beach

There are times when people are stressed out in life with their work and find it hard to get back to what they are doing without a nice break which will give them their energy back. If you too are stressed out and want to take a break and are staying close to Mangalore, then Malpe beach is the place that you should visit.

My visit to the Malpe beach was fun and exciting. We (my friend Flexcia and me) one day decided to meet up with our Friend Nadin who is studying in Manipal. So on a holiday we thought of going to Udupi to meet Nadin and also check out the place while we visited her.

We took a 7:00am train from Manglore Central station and reached the Udupi station by 9:00am. As Nadin was busy with her college work and would be available only after 12pm we decided that we visit the Malpe beach about which we heard so much from our friends. We got out of the station and started searching for a bus which would take us to this beach.

We walked for 5 minutes and finally found a mechanic who was very helpful and guided us to where we could catch a bus and reach our desired destination. Finally we reached the bus stop that took us to the main bus stand from where the beach is 8 km away we got on it. In 20 minutes we were there at the beach.

Once you are at the beach you have two options either stay on the beach or you can visit the beautiful St Marys Island. It will take you 15 minutes to reach the island but make sure you see your time so that you can take the ferry that comes back to the beach again. Well for me I stayed back at the Malpe beach due to time constraints.

At the beach the tourism authorities have made cool hut like structures for the people to rest and hang around. The Coast is very clean and has been well maintained by the authorities. If you are interested in water sports you will find this in plenty here. We spent nearly 2 hours on the beach.
After that we went on to do for which we had come for to Udupi. We met our friend who we saw after a year. She cooked for us a nice meal. We had lunch and started venturing the lake near Manipal. The lake too is very beautiful and you can go on a boat ride or just seat and enjoy the beautiful evening breeze at the place. Many of the localities visit in the evening for their walks.

Finally at 4:30 we said bye to Nadin and staterted our journey back to Manglore. So if any of you are staying close to Manglore or Udupi and want to try out going to a new place then I would recommend you all to once visit Malpe beach. We had a great fun and I know you too will enjoy your trip.
