Pristine Beach of Mangaluru: Taanirbhavi beach




Taanirbhavi beach is beautiful beach located in Mangaluru. Being in Mangaluru for two years this place has been one that I visit at least once in a month. Taanirbhavi beach is just 8-10 km away from Mangaluru city. Unlike Pnanmbur Beach which has lot of people flocking in every day. This beach is kind of less crowded on the week days. The beach also provides a cool shade as it is filled with many pine trees and people love to seat under it enjoying the cool salty breeze and watching the sea waves hitting the sea shore.


There are two ways through which you can reach the beach. One is by taking the bus and telling the bus conductor to drop you at the beach which is just after the Kuloor Bridge across the Gurupura River on the national highway 17, the way to the beach is on the left hand side of the road. The other way to the beach is through Sultan Battery. The place is as beautiful as the other beaches and is a cool place a person can visit before going to the Taanierbhavi beach. The place has a cool watch tower which was built by Tipu Sultan. It is built of black stones to obstruct the war ships entering the river which was the major route of English invasion but was retrieved from the English by Tipu Sultan. Though the place holds a watch tower it looks more like a fort with mounting place for cannons. The underground storage was built to store gunpowder.
The place also has a beautiful ferry ride which takes you to the other side of the river where you get a route to reach the Taanirbhavi beach. The ferry ride itself is amazing as you can take a look at all the fishing boats and the beautiful river water. The ride only charges 5rs and is available till 7:30pm.


At the entrance of the beach you will find many stalls that serve amazing panipuri, chats and also sugarcane juice. The place might not provide the variety you are looking for to eat but the snacks and food provided is tasty and worth trying.
The place also has some water sports which have been recently installed to provide more adventure to the people visiting the place. The beach also has a well maintained seating benches. The beach to compare to other beaches in Mangaluru is cleaner and well kept.



So guys if you are there in Mangaluru and would want to visit a place where you can spend your evenings peacefully then this place would be a perfect one for you as you can spend your time enjoying the sun without getting ten. The place also will give you a beautiful adventure of a ferry ride building in you an excitement to know what lies in the other side.

I love listening to their stories of the people who would work hard to achieve their dreams and today to have a great story about a man who is trying hard to get what he is aiming for, Sanam G Amin.   I have not actually met him in person yet, but my first encounter with him was in the PG fest where he was asked to be the Judge for the variety event.
